Uniko: You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Christmas Star Revisited

Good morning

If you saw my post yesterday then you will know all about the Uniko You're Going to Flip Week!

Each day this week, Bev and the Brand Ambassadors are revisiting the existing Ink & Flip stencils, ahead of a new release stencil set which will be available from Saturday.  Be sure to check out the Uniko blog to see lots of inspiration from the team.

Ok, today we are revisiting Ink & Flip Christmas Star.  This stencil creates a central star and it's not just for Christmas as you will see from my card today and others made by the team.

Here is my make, and I've paired the stencil with the Tropical Leaf I stencil and also the Wild Clear Stamp set...

I inked up the first side of the stencil with a pale green ink and, with it still in place, I laid the leaf stencil over the top and inked it up in a darker green.  I used the leaf stencil twice, for the top and bottom.  I then cleaned the stencil and flipped it over and inked it up for a second time in a different light shade, to create the central star.  And once again, lined up the leaf to complete the images in the same darker green as before.  To finish this one layer card, I stamped the sentiments from the Wild set, in black and brown ink.

Materials used:
  • Stencils: Uniko - Ink & Flip Christmas Star, Tropical Leaf I
  • Stamps: Uniko - Wild
  • Ink: Altenew - Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Misty Moor; Versafine Clair - Nocturne, Fallen Leaves

I think this shows how versatile this star stencil could be.  It's a square stencil but works great when used on different sized cards too, and offset like I have here.

So, be sure to check out the Uniko blog, here, over the next few days to see the Brand Ambassadors' makes using all the stencils in the series. I'll be back tomorrow with another!

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - 3 Stamp Sets 1, One-Layer Card

Good morning

I'm back with some Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration today.

I was recently tasked with making an 18th birthday card for my godson and masculine cards are the kind I find the most difficult, so to make one for an older teenager was even more daunting!  I had a rummage through my Uniko stash and decided to combine three stamp sets: Big & Bold HappyBackground Blocks Halftone and Explosion!

And other than the number dies I adhered, this is a completely flat, one layer card with all the elements stamped directly on the card base.  For full details of how this was made, take a look at my post over on the Uniko blog, here.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Big & Bold Happy, Background Blocks Halftone, Explosion!
  • Ink: Altenew - Autumn Blaze, Nimbus, Olive, Vineyard Berry; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Dies: Spellbinders - Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers

I was really pleased with how this one turned out and I hope this gives you some inspiration for those trickier masculine designs.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and with the Easter weekend approaching we are already past the halfway point of the working week.  Mustn't grumble, eh!  I hope you have some lovely plans for the long weekend.

Uniko March 2024 Non-Release Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Hi there

It's time for another Non-Release Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway at Uniko.  On non-release months the team revisit previously released products and give them some well-deserved love.  For this month, we are revisiting the gorgeous stamp sets in the Spring Botanicals series.

I have two cards for you today, both were made for Mother's Day, which was yesterday in the UK.  They are both very similar in design but I've used different techniques on each.

First up I've used the beautiful Spring Botanicals Daffodil stamp set...

I stamped the daffodil directly on the card base and then stamped and cut out a mask.  As well as covering up the daffodil, I also masked off the bottom right corner with low tack tape.  I then ink blended the background in three shades of Distress Oxide Ink and then sprinkled some water drops and blotted to remove the colour.  The sentiments were heat embossed in white on some black cardstock and these were adhered on 3D foam.  To finish I added some scattered clear gems.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Spring Botanicals Daffodil
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Distress Oxide - Rustic Wilderness, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold; VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opague Bright White
  • Clear gems from stash

For my second card I used emboss resist with Spring Botanicals Snowdrop and the sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set...

On a die cut panel I stamped the snowdrops in VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white.  I then blended up from the bottom corner using two shades of Distress Oxide.  I then "painted" the snowdrops with water and blotted with kitchen paper to remove the ink.  I stamped the sentiment in black and adhered the panel flat to the card base.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Spring Botanicals Snowdrop, Simply Said
  • Ink: VersaMark; Distress Oxide - Speckled Egg, Shabby Shutters; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opague Bright White
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Scalloped Rectangles

Here are all the Spring Botanicals stamp sets in their entirety...

Uniko 12th Birthday New Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway

Good morning!

It's release day over at Uniko and I'm here to reveal the whole release and share another card.

Here's the final card I made and I decided to use the new Background Blocks MOD Builder and sentiments from the new Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments set...

I began by stamping the MOD builder off the edge of the card in a pale ink and coloured it it with a Copic marker.  I kept my stamp in my MISTI so I could re-stamp in the teal colour afterwards, as the ink I used isn't Copic friendly.  Next I stamped a flower using elements from the Mid Century Modern Florals set in co-ordinating colours.  I stamped two of the greetings from the Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments set in bold black and then finished the card by adding some dot sprinkles to the corner image and the flower.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks MOD Builder, Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments, Mid Century Modern Florals
  • Ink: Copic Marker - BG23; Versa Color - Lagoon Blue; Altenew - Volcano Lake; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Accents: Little Things from Lucy's Cards - Sprinkles: Little Dots

So, now to reveal the new products in full.

An addition to the Ink & Flip stencil series...Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering set...

a new addition to the Mid Century Modern series...Mid Century Modern Birthday...

and more sentiments to co-ordinate...Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments...

Uniko Celebrating 12 Years - Introducing...Background Blocks MOD Builder

Good morning and happy Saturday!

How have you been enjoying the Uniko new release introductions over the last few days?  Well, it's Day 4 and the last of the introductions today.  And we have an addition to the Background Blocks series for you...Background Blocks MOD Builder.

If you're a fan of Uniko this one may look familiar to you.  That's because the same design was previously released as a stencil.

Ok, I have two examples for you using this one and first up I did some emboss resist with water colouring...

I stamped and heat embossed the image in clear on some watercolour cardstock.  I then randomly watercoloured, wet on wet, over and around the image before die cutting the panel with a stitched rectangle die.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, from the new Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments set that was introduced yesterday, on a strip of vellum and wrapped this around the panel, adhering on the reverse, before mounting the panel on the card base using 3D foam.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks MOD Builder, Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments
  • Ink: VersaMark; Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Crushed Olive
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Clear Gloss, Opaque Bright White

And my second card combines the new set with sentiments from the Mid Century Modern Frames set...

I stamped the main image in the centre but off the edge of the card in grey ink and then used the repeating design to add to the image at the top and bottom.  I then used one of the co-ordinating solid images to add colour to selected parts.  I stamped and heat embossed the greetings from the Mid Century Modern Frames set on grey cardstock and die cut these before adhering them flat, nestled within the design.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks MOD Builder; Mid Century Modern Frames
  • Ink: VersaMark; Altenew - Silver Stone, Soft Lilac, Minty Mint
  • Embossing Powder: Brutus Monroe - Alabaster
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax

The team are sharing more projects over on the main Uniko blog, here so be sure to check that out and follow the links.

The entire release will be available to purchase from 9am GMT tomorrow, Sunday 18 January 2024.

I'll be back tomorrow morning to reveal the entire release and share another card.

Uniko Celebrating 12 Years - Introducing...Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments

Hi there

It's Day 3 of the 12th Birthday/February release introductions from Uniko and today is the turn of another series addition...Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments.

I made two super clean and simple one layer cards to showcase this new set.

First up I paired the sentiment with some images from the Mid Century Modern Florals set...

This is so simple it doesn't really need a tutorial.  Just simple stamping of separate elements.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments, Mid Century Modern Florals
  • Ink: Altenew - Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Altenew - Marshland, Evening Gray, Desert Night, Dew Drops, Autumn Blaze

And my second card is just as simple but this one combined the sentiment with the Mid Century Modern Shapes stencil and one part of the Layering Bauhaus Blocks stencil...

I inked up the soft shapes first and then stamped the sentiment.  I felt it needed something else so I added the three vertical lines which are a small section of the Bauhaus Block stencil.  Another simple one.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments
  • Stencils: Uniko - Mid Century Modern Shapes, Layering Bauhaus Blocks
  • Ink: Versafine Clair - Nocturne; Altenew - Marshland, Dew Drops, Desert Night, Evening Gray

Don't forget that the Brand Ambassadors are all sharing more projects over on the main Uniko blog, here.

The entire release will be available to purchase from 9am GMT on Sunday 18 January 2024.

I'll be back tomorrow to introduce another new stamp set.  I hope you can take a look.
